Atlee Kumar - एटली कुमार
Atlee Kumar, professionally known as Atlee, is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer who primarily works in Tamil cinema and has also made a major mark in Hindi cinema. Born Arun Kumar on 21 September 1986 in Thiruparankundram, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, he is known for commercially successful films such as Raja Rani, Theri, Mersal, Bigil and Jawan.
Early Life and Education of Atlee Kumar
Atlee studied Visual Communication at Sathyabama University/Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai. During his early years, he developed an interest in filmmaking and made short films, including Mugaputhagam.
Beginning of His Film Career
Atlee began his professional filmmaking career as an assistant director to S. Shankar. He worked on major projects including Enthiran (2010) and Nanban (2012). This experience helped him develop his skills in large-scale commercial filmmaking.
Directorial Debut – Raja Rani
